Investigation group works equally works on all versions of the Tu-154 crash

The group investigating reasons for the Tu-154 crash is working equally on “absolutely all versions of the crash," Sergei Fridinski, deputy public prosecutor general said at a press conference. He stated that before receiving conclusions for the expert groups that are investigating the crash, “any information could not be regarded as reliable." According to him, for the time being, the only fact can be established is that the explosion took place; however, it cannot be determined whether or not the explosion took place inside or outside of the plane.

“It can be said that the plane was annihilated by technical reasons," Ferdinski stated. "It could be also a result of a disrepair. Cases like this are known.” In investigating the crash, specialists in many fields have been involved. All initial investigations will be carried out in Sochi, RIA ‘Novosti’ reports. The main directions of the group’s work are, first of all, the identification of the bodies. The others directions are secondary at the moment. Three dead women have already been are identified; they are citizens of Israel. Alltogether, 14 bodies have been lifted. Fridinski also confirmed that Israeli identification specialists are expected to arrive in Sochi. The investigation group deeply co-operates with Israeli colleagues, Ferdinski said. “According to international rules, we asked Israel to render legal assistance, so hopefully we will soon obtain all the necessary facts," the deputy public prosecutor general added. According to him, the question is first of all how to establish the identity of the people who were on board of the plane, and about preparing the plane for taking off, and so on. According to Ferdinski, a criminal case was opened into the theory ofterrorism, and the investigation will be controlled personally by Prosecutor General Vladimir Ustinov.
