Vladimir Putin Held A Meeting In The Kremlin With Governor Of The Leningrad Region

Vladimir Putin held a meeting in the Kremlin with Valery Serdyukov, governor of the Leningrad region. The governor informed the Russian President of the measures undertaken to eliminate effects of the hurricane which hit the region and also of preparation of the region for the winter season. Putin was interested in pace and status of restoration works. According to Serdyukov, "the situation was very complicated". At the same time the governor emphasized that "efforts of transportation workers, technical and other services were put together and within a week all problems would be overcome". Serdyukov indicated that in total 272 settlements were damaged as a result of the hurricane.
