Euro-2002 Conference To Be Held In Moscow

The second international conference Euro-2002 is to be held in Moscow Thursday. The conference is devoted to introduction of the common European currency into circulation since January 1, 2002. The conference organising committee reported that its participants will discuss issues related to European integration and economic growth trends in Russia. Moreover, problems facing Russian banks in accepting cash euros will also be in the focus. The conference will tentatively analyse the euro rate dynamics in international currency market and prospects of rate dynamics compared to the U.S. dollar. The conference participants will also touch upon such issues as legal aspects of work with euros while making export-import operations, as well as risk insurance in commodity markets with due regard of the contracts concluded in euros. The conference will be attended by representatives of the Central Bank of Russia, State Duma, Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, Finance Ministry, Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange, European Commission and the Federal Bank of Germany.
