Kasyanov Reports Expected Additional Revenues In 2001 Budget

Russia is expected to receive about 318 billion rubles ($10.64bn) in additional budget revenues this year, Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov reported at a meeting with the Lower House of parliament today. He stated that reforms conducted by the government have already brought positive results. In particular, Kasyanov mentioned that tax reforms resulted in no increase in the tax burden on Russian producers and, at the same time, they did not lead to a drop in regional revenues. The Prime Minister stressed that the volume of daily customs payments doubled in 2001 as compared to 2000.
