EU To Present Its Proposals On Agricultural Industry To Russia

The EU Commission will present its proposals on the agricultural industry and access to the Russian market of services by the end of 2001. These proposals were elaborated within the process of Russia's entering the WTO, Yevgeny Manakin, head of the trade policy department of the Russian Economy Ministry, announced today. He noted that negotiations between Russia and the EU on tariff policies continued successfully in the past one and a half months and the list of tariffs to be considered has reduced significantly. Manakin recalled that Russia and EU representatives held negotiations on access to the Russian market of services last week. He stated that the EU is fulfilling its obligations on agreements reached at the recent Russia-EU summit.
