Air Traffic Closed In Sakhalin Region Of Russia

The airport of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, the capital of the Sakhalin region of Russia, will be closed by 7 p.m. today due to heavy snow that raged earlier. The airstrip will be opened again as soon as it is cleared of snow. Tamara Gracheva, director of the airport, reported to RBC that clearing operations started early in the morning today and they may be completed in the evening.
