"Russian Miracle" Exhibition In Moscow

The fourth annual exhibition called Russkoye Chudo, or Russian Miracle, opened in Moscow's All-Russia Exhibition Center on Wednesday. The exposition, which was blessed by Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexis II, features church plate and objects of applied arts, including icons, fretwork, chinaware, and hand-made cold steel. According to the directorate of the Culture Pavilion, which houses the exhibition, the purpose of the event is to "demonstrate the inexhaustible creative energy of Russian peoples and the new ideas and technologies that originate from folk art traditions." The centerpiece of the exposition presents works related to Orthodoxy and applied arts. Many of the items featured are hand-made and range from double-sided fretwork on transparent stone and gilded needlework miniatures to fretworked wooden interiors and carved icons.
