9 Units Of Mining Rescuers Putting Out Fire At Vorkutinskaya Mine

Nine units of mining rescuers are putting out the fire at the Vorkutinskaya mine (the Komi republic, Russia's north), the North-Western regional centre of the Russian Emergencies Ministry told RIA Novosti. A methane explosion followed by fire shook the Vorkutinskaya mine at 16.08 Moscow time on Sunday. Five miners died and twelve were taken to hospital. A governmental commission is investigating the causes of the explosion at the mine.
