Russian Ministry of Emergencies Prepares Transport Aircraft with Humanitarian Aid for Iraqi Refugees

The Russian Ministry of Emergencies is preparing transport aircraft with humanitarian aid for Iraqi refugees.

Deputy Minister Yuri Brazhnikov told journalists on Thursday that four Il-76 transport aircraft would soon deliver tents, beds and blankets to the Iranian town of Kermanshah to set up refugee camps on Iran's territory.

Brazhnikov said that the establishment of refugee camps in Iran and the reception of refugees are the first stage of Russia's humanitarian aid for Iraqi refugees.

He added that the Emergencies Ministry was carrying out the Russian Government's tasks in providing humanitarian aid to Iraqi refugees.

The Ministry's specialists have surveyed the localities in Iran first of all and met the UN representatives in the region.

"We are well aware of the situation both locally and in the international humanitarian community," Brazhnikov stressed.
