USGS Doubts Astana's Official Data on Oil Reserves

The US Geological Survey doubts Atana's official data on oil reserves in Kazakhstan.

According to Americans, Kazakhstani-estimated 2.5 bl tons of oil also include unrecoverable reserves.

The USGS believes that not more than 50% of the stated oil volume would be produced.

At the same time, the Americans are 95 percent sure that Kazakhstan's explored reserves make up 850 ml tons of oil only, or a third of the amount Kazakhstan claimed to have.
