Gazprom to Participate in Gas Projects in Saudi Arabia

Russian company Gazprom is likely to participate in a number of gas projects in Saudi Arabia, Russian Energy Minister Igor Yusufov said on the threshold of his negotiations with a delegation from Saudi Arabia headed by Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali Ibrahim Naimi in Moscow.

The Russian Energy Minister said that Saudi Arabia is conducting talks with several major companies on their participation in a number of gas projects. "Russia is interested in co-operation and believes that Gazprom could take part in the project," Igor Yusufov said.

According to him, at present, co-operation between Russia and Saudi Arabia in oil, gas and energy fields accounts for more than 80 percent of all Russian-Saudi Arabian trade and economic contacts. The Russian Energy Minister said that an issue concerning mutual investment and capital attraction would be on the agenda of their meeting in Moscow too.
