Gazprom consolidates 51 percent of its shares

Russian's gas giant, OAO Gazprom, has completed the activities for the consolidation of its shares. Due to this, the joint-stock company, its subsidiaries and the state hold over 51 percent in it, the press service of the company reported.

Further activities will be aimed at the gradual unification of the currently existing two-level market of Gazprom's shares while preserving the existing structure of share capital to a great extent. The state will influence the company's policies via the stakes owned both by the government and by the Gazprom holding.
