Russia to Triple Gas Supplies through Bulgaria

Russia is to increase the volume of natural gas transported through Bulgaria threefold in the near future. Agreement in principle on this was reached yesterday during talks between Gazprom chairman Alexei Miller and Kirill Gegov, the chairman of Bulgarian company Bulgargaz. The volume of gas supplied via Bulgaria is expected to increase from 3.2 million cubic metres to 9 million cubic metres.

Alexei Miller was in Bulgaria as part of a Russian governmental delegation headed by President Vladimir Putin. The delegation arrived in Bulgaria on Saturday and is leaving today.
