Bulgaria Welcomes Russian Investment

Bulgaria is extremely interested in attracting Russian capital into its market, according to Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov. The president said that Sofia intends to sign 'a treaty, which has already been fully prepared, on further strengthening of our friendly relations and partnership' with Russia. 'This will have a positive effect on our economy,' the Bulgarian President added.

The Russian governmental delegation in Bulgaria includes LUKoil head Vagit Alekperov, Vladimir Yevtushenkov, the president of the Sistema telecommunications firm, and Gazprom chairman Alexei Miller. They have all flown to Bulgaria with the intention of signing agreements with their Bulgarian counterparts.
