Russian Firm to Present Furs at Hong Kong Fair on March 1

Fur exhibiting association Soyuzpushnina will give a presentation in Hong Kong on March 1 as part of the annual international exhibition International Fur & Fashion Week. According to Head of the Marketing Department Irina Gandilyan a delegation of Soyuzpushnina's management is traveling to Hong Kong with the aim of expanding business ties on the local fur market. The fur association will also invite potential customers to a fur auction in St. Petersburg on April 25-29.

Soyuzpushnina is the only Russian organizer of international fur auctions. Sales from the 158th international fur auction, which took place between January 29 and February 2, 2003, came to over USD 10 million, that is almost USD 2 million more than the same auction in 2002. About 100 customers from 12 different countries including Russia took part in the January auction. At the April auction there are plans to exhibit 130 thousand sable skins, 200 thousand mink skins, 80 thousand Arctic fox skins, 25 thousand silver-black fox skins, 500 thousand red fox skins as well as squirrel skins, Siberian weasel skins and ermine.
