Vneshekonombank repays $1.79bn to Paris Club of Creditors

At the Russian Finance Ministry's assignment Vneshekonombank made payments to offset Russia's $1.79bn debt to member states of the Paris Club of Creditors. As the press service of Vneshekonombank reported, the payment was made in nine currencies. The payment was made in accordance with the schedules that were agreed on with sovereign creditors within the framework of the fourth and fifth consolidations of the former Soviet Union's debt.

As it was reported earlier, Russia will have to repay a total of $17.3bn in 2003 on its foreign debt.
