FATF Announces End of Economic Sanctions against Ukraine

The Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering (FATF) has today announced that it is to lift all economic sanctions against Ukraine. This announcement was made public on FATF's website. According to official sources, the West is satisfied with Kiev's attempts to 'close all channels for illegally transferring money out of Ukraine as soon as possible.'

The Ukrainian parliament has ratified a law on fighting 'laundering of dirty money.' Earlier, over 10 countries, including Canada, the US, Great Britain, and Switzerland, had introduced sanctions against Kiev, which was accused of 'failing to act against the legalisation of illegally acquired income.'
