LUKoil will not take part in the construction of the oil pipeline Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan. LUKoil President Vaghit Alekperov has made this statement after a meeting with Kazakhstani President Nursultan Nazarbayev in Alma-Ata.
According to Alekperov, the planned volume of oil transportation through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline is for Azerbaijani oil only. This is only about 40m tons and this volume does not solve the problem of transporting Russian or Kazakhstani oil, he added.
