The Russian Finance Ministry effected a scheduled debt re-payment of 58,928,625 special drawing rights on Wednesday to the International Monetary Fund.
A Finance Ministry spokesman announced that the payment was made in three currencies: 5,332, 900,000 yens, 11, 234, 000 euros and 23, 700,000 US dollars. This was the last payment for this month.
In 2003, Russia is to pay the IMF 1,559,000,000 million special drawing rights, which is the equivalent of $2,100,000,000.
The IMF has pointed out that Russia is honouring its debt obligations in full.
