Russia reports on investments in transport sector

Investments in the transport sector amounted to 300bn rubles (about $9.43bn) in Russia in 2002, Oleg Lomanov, the general director of a transport upgrade agency, announced at a meeting in the Russian Transport Ministry today. According to the official, in particular, 160bn rubles (about $5.03bn) were allocated for reconstructing roads and 65bn rubles (about $2.04bn) were spent on the development of railroad transport services.
