Aeroflot comments on demands of its trade unions

Demands of potential strikers contradict the current legal norms and they are of an illegal character, the press service of Aeroflot reported commenting on the plans of the company's three trade unions to go on strike. The trade unions say that the reason for a strike is their dissatisfaction with the provisions of the collective agreement between the trade unions and Aeroflot concerning salaries and working hours.

Before coming into force on January 15, 2002, the agreement was examined by the Russian Justice and Labor Ministries.

Aeroflot believes that the trade unions' threats to go on strike undermine Aeroflot's activities and reputation.
