GAZ plans to sell vehicles to Nigeria

The GAZ company plans to supply 200 automobiles to Nigeria in 2003, the company's Press Service reported. It is planned to complete the preparation of documents for making a respective contract by the end of January 2003.

An agreement on selling vehicles to Nigeria was reached during an international fair in the Nigerian capital Lagos in November 2002. The supplies will be conducted by GAZ Impex West Africa, which is a GAZ dealer in Nigeria. GAZ supplied 130 GAZel vans to Nigeria in 2002 for testing.

GAZ made 198,135 vehicles last year. The 2002 volume of production exceeded that of 2001 by 3.5%. The company produced 65,648 cars and 132,487 commercial vehicles, including 32,229 minibuses.
