Baltika brewery reports 2002 turnover

The Baltika brewery reported its 2002 turnover at some $900m with the volume of sales reaching 160m decalitres, Baltika's Vice President for Finances and Economy Alexander Nikonov reported to journalists today. The 2003 growth is forecasted at 15 percent, he added. In 2001, the company sold 140m decalitres of beer products. In the future, Baltika will be investing about one percent of its turnover in IT development.

According to the Vice President, six percent of the company's products were exported in 2002 and this number is to go up to 10 percent within the next two years. It's worth mentioning, that the first time Baltika beer appeared on western markets was in 1999. At present, the company's export geography includes almost all CIS countries, Germany, Switzerland, Great Britain, Israel, USA, the Baltic countries, Mongolia, etc. According to Nikonova, Baltika has no plans to build new factories in the near future.
