Armenia to continue energy sector reforms this year

The year 2003 is the beginning of a serious development of infrastructure in Armenia, President Robert Kocharyan declared at his meeting with Armenian entrepreneurs speaking about the main directions of work in 2003. In particular, reforms in the energy sector will continue, he specified.

Among other important directions, the head of state singled out the policy aimed at stimulating Armenian exports. "Pretty serious investments" will be directed to the sphere of road construction, he added.

Leasing companies are expected to work actively this year, Kocharyan stressed.

According to the President, the reform of the system of state service will be completed in 2003. He added that special attention would be paid to the administration of tax and customs sectors.
