Classes cancelled in Kamchatka because of a violent cyclone

A Pacific Ocean violent cyclone has hit Kamchatka. All classes were cancelled in the afternoon at Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky's schools (the administrative center of the peninsula).

Now the wind is blowing at a speed of 15 meters per second. No heavy precipitation has been registered so far.

As a source in the Kamchatka interregional department for hydrometeorology and environmental monitoring said, the region will be affected by the northwestern part of the cyclone during the next two days. Snow, snowstorm and gale are expected in the southern parts of the peninsula.

Weather forecasters said the wind would at times blow at a speed of 25-30 meters per second in the coastal areas.

The storm will only end on Sunday.
