Gazprom forecasts revenues from selling non-core assets

According to preliminary estimates, Gazprom will earn RUR7.5bn (about $235.87m) from selling its non-core assets in 2002 and RUR6bn (about $188.70m) in 2003, member of the executive board of Russia's gas giant Alexander Krasnenkov reported at a briefing in Moscow. According to him, it was planned to sell RUR9bn (about $283.05m) in non-core assets in 2002. He pointed out that Gazprom was going to restructure the deal on Gazprom-Media and to preserve 51 percent of its shares. The deal is estimated at RUR5bn to RUR5.5bn (about $157.25m to $172.97m).

Krasnenkov also reported that Gazprom was going to sell six to seven items at an auction. These are facilities of the Gazmetall agricultural complex first of all. Additionally, it is planned to sell the National Reserve Bank and the Druzhkovsky Plant of Gas Equipment (Ukraine).
