Duma abolishes tax on buying foreign currency

The lower house of the Russian parliament has adopted the bill on canceling the tax on buying foreign currency on the third reading today. According to the document, a one-percent tax on purchasing any foreign currency is abolished effective January 1, 2003. The bill was supported by 291 deputies with 115 against and one abstention.
