British Secretary of Energy to discuss energy cooperation in Moscow

On Tuesday, Great Britain's Secretary of Energy Brian Wilson will arrive in Russia on a three-day visit, a source at the British Embassy in Moscow informed. The source also said that during his visit Brian Wilson will meet Russian Energy Minister Igor Yusufov, Deputy Atomic Energy Minister Andrei Malyshev and leading businessmen engaged in the energy sector.

The Embassy source informed that the British secretary would discuss bilateral energy cooperation with his Russian colleagues.

The energy sector is one of the main directions of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. Russia and Great Britain are successfully cooperating within the G-8 group and they greatly contribute to the progress of energy dialogue between Russia and the European Union.

As Russia's Energy Minister Igor Yusufov said at the mid-September session of the Russian-British energy group, "Great Britain is one of Russia's main strategic energy partners."
