Finance Ministry makes payment to IMF

The Russian Finance Ministry has made another payment to the International Monetary Fund totaling 16.464m British pounds (19.469m SDR). The payment has been made in strict accordance with the schedule, the Finance Ministry told RosBusinessConsulting. According to the payment schedule, other payments are to be made on December 27 and 29. As December 29 is a day off, this payment will be made on December 27.

On the whole, Russia is to pay off about $1.5bn (199.702m SDR) to the IMF this year. More than $1.4bn has already been paid off. According to the Finance Ministry's data, the Russia government's debt to the IMF amounted to $7.5bn as of January 1, 2002.
