YUKOS to decide on dividend payments today

The YUKOS board of directors will consider the size of interim dividends for 2002, the company's press service reported to RBC. According to the board's decision as of November 15, 2002, an extraordinary meeting of YUKOS shareholders will be held on December 31 (in the form of absentee voting) to consider the payment of interim dividends for the first nine months of 2002.

In 2001, YUKOS allocated 15.250bn rubles (about $506m at the exchange rate as of January 1, 2002) for dividend payments. The net profit of YUKOS, calculated according to Russian accounting standards, totaled 90.8bn rubles (about $2.85bn at the current exchange rate) in the first nine months of 2002.
