Russia increases gas exports

The volume of gas exports by the Gazexport company increased by 3.8% in the first 10 months of 2002 compared to the corresponding period of 2001. It reached 105.6bn cubic m, the Gazexport Press Service reported with reference to information from the Energy Ministry.

The volume of exports to non-CIS countries rose by 3.5% to 104.9bn cubic m. The volume of gas exports to Western Europe grew by 2% to 71.04bn cubic m, and the volume of exports to Eastern Europe increased by 5% to 33.84bn cubic m. The volume of exports to CIS countries (Ukraine) amounted to 750m cubic m.
