The presentation of a special publication "Towards Russian President Vladimir Putin's Visit to the PRC" issued jointly by the RIA Novosti information agency and the holding of the leading Chinese newspaper Renmin Jibao, was held in the capital of the PRC on Friday. This is the first time that such a publication is published in China.
Addressing Chinese and Russian pressmen in the main Renmin Jibao building, Igor Rogachev, Russia's ambassador to China, stressed that the issue of that special publication devoted to the forthcoming visit to China by the head of the Russian state, is one more evidence of the expanding relations between the two countries. He noted at the same time that after the bilateral working group for cooperation between the mass media of the two countries was set up last October that publication is the first concrete example of practical cooperation between journalists of Russia and China.
Wang Chen, Renmin Jibao president and editor-in-chief, stressed the fruitful cooperation between RIA Novosti and the newspaper in the sphere of information interaction and recalled that cooperation between Renmin Jibao and RIA Novosti is developing on the basis of an agreement on information cooperation and exchanges which was signed in October this year.
The almost 100-page journal which was presented in Beijing today carries in the Chinese language material on Vladimir Putin's activity, articles on various aspects of Russian-Chinese relations, and is illustrated by over 100 color photographs. Among the authors is Valentina Matviyenko, Vice-Premier of the Russian Government, the ministers of foreign affairs, defense, atomic power, industry and trade, education, as well as scientists and journalists.
