Vladimir Putin meets head of the Russian Central Electoral Committee

On Monday, Russia's president Vladimir Putin has discussed with Alexander Veshnyakov, Head of the Central Electoral Committee, the progress of the consideration of bills aimed to improve the electoral system at the State Duma (lower house of Parliament).

During the Kremlin meeting, the head of the Committee informed the president about the committee's international contacts.

Vladimir Putin congratulated Veshnyakov on his anniversary presenting him with "a traditional souvenir," as the President put it. Veshnyakov turned 50 the day before.
