AvtoVAZ carmaker could stop assembly line again

The AvtoVAZ car producer could make a decision on a second stop of its main assembly line, the company reported to RBC. The stop will last as long as one month. It is planned to stop the plant's main assembly line from the middle of December 2002 till the middle of January 2003. However, this period includes the so-called "Christmas vacation"; the assembly line will be actually stopped for two weeks, like it was last stopped time, the company stressed. According to various estimates, there are currently 80,000 to 85,000 cars accumulated at the plant's storage lots.
