Seven fishermen spent almost a day on icefloe which broke away from the coast

Seven fishermen from the Yamal-Nenets autonomous area spent almost a day on the icefloe which broke away from the Ob Inlet's coast (the Ob river falls into the Arctic Ocean).

The main department of emergency situations of the area reported that helicopter pilots took off fishermen, who turned to be the local inhabitants, from the icefloe. All the rescued people are alive, and the state of their health is satisfactory.

According to the first deputy head of the area civil defence and emergency situations department, Arkady Bessonov, the SOS signal was received on Wednesday, late in the evening. The prompt evacuation of fishermen was not conducted because of darkness.
