Gov't allocates financial support to Far Eastern regions

The Russian government has approved the program on distributing financialsupport to budgets of Russian regions and republics totaling 10bn rubles($316.15m). It has been made within the framework of introducing amendmentsto the government decree on measures aimed at implementing the federal lawon the federal budget for 2002, the Vostok Media news agency reported.Sakha Republic (Yakutia) will get 268.9m rubles ($8.5m), the Primorskyregion will receive 106.2m rubles ($3.36m), the Khabarovsk region 164.5mrubles ($5.2m), the Amur region 117.9m rubles ($3.72m), the Kamchatkaregion 94.9m rubles (about $3m), the Magadan region 84.8m rubles ($2.68m),the Sakhalin region will receive 89m rubles ($2.81m), Jewish AutonomousRegion will get 25.3m rubles (about $800,000), Chukot Autonomous Region42.1m rubles ($1.33m) and Koryak Autonomous Region 96m rubles ($3.04m)..
