Emergencies Ministry reports on situation with wildfires in Moscow region

Weathermen report that weather conditions in the Moscow region in the nearfuture will promote the dispersion of harmful impurities in the atmosphere,the Emergencies Ministry told RosBusinessConsulting. However currently, dueto continuing fires in the Moscow region, the level of smog in Moscowremains high. The level of carbon monoxide concentration in Moscow is from10 to 50 percent higher than the maximum acceptable level. At present some120 fires are registered in 16 districts of the Moscow region. The area ofthe largest wildfire is 52.7 hectares, and their total area is 345.25hectares.Firefighters have managed to localize a fire in the Shatura district some 6kilometers to the south from the Radovitsky Mokh settlement recently. Overa three-day period, three Il-76 planes of the Emergencies Ministry pouredsome 368 tons of water on fires. Mi-26 and Mi-8 helicopters, 5,554 peopleand 1,058 vehicles are taking part in eliminating wildfires..
