Gazprom posts gas output figures for eight months of 2002

Gazprom's affiliates produced 341bn cubic meters of gas in January-Augustof this year, an increase of 8bn cubic meters of gas from the figure postedin the similar period of last year, the press service of the gas holdingreported to RosBusinessConsulting. An increase in the company's gas outputwas due to the commission of the Transpolar field as well as thanks to thecompany's active steps aimed at stabilizing the production at the basicdeposits of Gazprom. The gas holding's gas condensate output was 6.8m tons in January-August2002. The volume of gas processed by the company within the first eightmonths of 2002 was 22.4bn cubic meters, while the volume of processed gascondensate and oil was 6.3m tons. It was also pointed out by the company'spress service that Gazprom had met its obligations under its gas supplycontracts in full. 223bn cubic meters of gas were supplied to the domesticmarket. Additionally, the company's gas exports to the countries of theWestern and Eastern Europe were 85.2bn cubic meters in the specifiedperiod, while the volume of gas supplied to the countries of the CIS andBaltic states was 59.5bn cubic meters, an increase of 3.8bn and 1.9bn cubicmeters respectively as compared to the figures reported in the similarperiod last year. .
