Probe launched into the reasons of southern Russia's flood victims

A specially set up investigation group headed by first deputy Prosecutor of the Kransodar region Nikolai Buzko, which is investigating the reasons of the flood on the Black Sea shoreline and its victims, has arrived in Novorossiysk and got down to work.

The group members intend to investigate every case of people's deaths, the regional prosecutor's office reported on Monday.

At present investigators are withdrawing documents from the owners of the houses built on the sea coast, near dams, in river mouths and other dangerous places, intending to bring to justice both the owners and officials who issued permissions for illegal buildings.

The question why tent camps and parking lots for holiday-makers were set up in inappropriate places, on the sea coast or near reservoir dams, will be investigated separately.
