Gazprom's arm reports rise in exports

The volume of natural gas exported by Gazexport, an export arm of theRussian gas monopolist Gazprom, surged 3.7 percent in the first half ofthis year versus the corresponding period last year and reached 65.81bncubic meters, the press service of Gazexport reported. In particular,exports to Western European countries amounted to 44.77bn cubic meters inthe first six months of 2002, which was 2.5 percent than in January-July2001.
