Vladimir Putin has charged the State Fisheries Committee and the Nature Ministry with working out new quotas for catching salmons.
The catching of salmons in the Far East federal district was on the agenda of the working meeting of the president with deputy prime minister, agriculture minister Alexei Gordeyev.
At the beginning of the meeting the president specified the problems he would like the minister to express his opinion on. In particular, Putin was interested why in the first half-year the agriculture ministry had "underused" almost half of the sum allocated to the state agriculture investments in the 2002 budget.
He was also interested in the funding interest rates of agriculture credits. The conditions of the privileged crediting was to be approved before March 1, 2002, the president said. He wanted to know why it had been done only in June.
Another issue was catching of salmons in the Far East federal district.
The president pointed out that the amount of salmon this year was much larger than expected and charged the State Fisheries Committee and the Nature Ministry with working out new quotas for catching the fish.
After it turned out that Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov included the Fonbet betting company in the list of backbone enterprises that can count on state support, everyone started talking about these bookmakers.
