Russia to make regular payment on IMF debt this week

The Russian Finance Ministry is to make a regular payment this week to redeem the country's debt to the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The finance department informed RIA Novosti that the payment would amount to 59,052,000 euros.

The total amount of Russia's payments to the Fund in July accounted for about USD 170 million and USD 850 million since the beginning of the year. Overall, Russia is to pay USD 1.5 billion to the Fund in 2002.

As of January 1, 2002 Russia's debt to the IMF was equal to almost USD 7.5 billion.
