Preparatory work at section of the future Trans-Korean Railway Ussuriisk - Hasan

A group of railway specialists have started preparatory work at the section of the future Trans-Korean Railway Ussuriisk - Hasan. The head of the Far Eastern Railway, Viktor Popov, spoke about it on Tuesday. According to him, the specialists will study the technical possibilities of the existing 240-kilometre line, the necessity of developing different railway facilities and communication systems to make it possible for the present low-activity railway to transport additional building materials and equipment.

Earlier, during their expedition, railway specialists inspected a nearly 800-kilometre section of the future Trans-Korean Railway from the station of Hasan to the south - to the border with South Korea. The materials of this expedition have made up the basis of the feasibility study for the creation of the Trans-Korean Railway. The 240-kilometre section in the Maritime Territory of Russia will be its northern section - from the border across the River of Tumangan to the Trans-Siberian Railway.
