Iran withdraws S-300 lawsuit against Russia

Iran withdraws its lawsuit against Russia on S-300 anti-aircraft complexes that Russia did not deliver to the country several years ago.

The documents related to the withdrawal of the claim were submitted to the Court of Arbitration in Paris, Putin's aide for defense cooperation Vladimir Kozhin said.

"The Iranian side has prepared the documents and sent them to Paris. The terms for their consideration have not been established yet," Kozhin said on the sidelines of the international exhibition of the helicopter industry HeliRussia-2016 in Moscow.

According to the official, Russia has already delivered a division of S-300 systems to Iran. Several other divisions of S-300 systems will be delivered to Iran by the end of the year.

"We have received guarantees from Tehran about the recall action due to non-delivery," Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said earlier. "The deliveries of S-300 systems are regulated by the contract that was signed last year. The shipments will begin upon the receipt of financial assets. We have already received them, and the contract is now underway," he added.
