Russia's PAK FA T-50 fighter jet changes rules of the game in aviation

The new Russian T-50 fighter aircraft will be a highly precise jet. The new Russian plane is said to be equipped with guided munitions. The PAK FA T-50 is a Russian multipurpose fighter of the fifth generation developed Sukhoi design bureau, a division of the United Aircraft Corporation.

The T-50 is a highly maneuverable stealth aircraft. In addition to internal compartments, in which bombs and missiles are housed, the Russian fighter is capable of carrying additional suspension arms, including various types of guided missiles and KAB-500 guided aerial bombs equipped with control and guidance systems. These munitions are used during the operations of the Russian Air Force in Syria.

The serial production of the PAK FA aircraft is due to start in 2017 in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. By 2020, the Russian Air Force will receive 55 T-50 fighter jets. Additionally, India and Russia discuss the possibility of the joint development of a fifth-generation fighter based on the T-50 concept.

Many experts are skeptical about the prospects for T-50's main competitor - the F-35 fighter jet of the United States. The US project is far from perfection for the time being. There are problems with radars, and the price of one F-35 is a lot higher than real costs. F-35 uses fuel for cooling electronics, which makes the use of the aircraft complicated in hot countries. The plane engines will not start if the fuel s too warm.
