The construction of the stadium and other objects of sport and tourist infrastructure for the World Cup 2018 will help increase the tourist flow in the region. The football tournament will earn international reputation for the city of Nizhny Novgorod.
"I am glad that FIFA accepted our proposal to name the stadium "Nizhny Novgorod", because now our city will become famous around the world. This is very important because it will make our city more recognizable and increase the flow of tourists to the region," Valery Shantsev said.
By 2020, the Nizhny Novgorod authorities plan to increase the tourist flow up to three million people a year.
