Statistics Committee reports about industrial output growth

Industrial production growth amounted to 4 percent in Russia in the period from January to September 2002, compared to the corresponding period of last year, the State Statistics Committee reported. The industrial production growth in the first quarter of this year surged by 2.6 percent, compared to the first three months of 2001, the industrial output in the second quarter of 2002 advanced by 3.9 percent, and by 5.5 percent in the third quarter.

In September 2002 the production added 5.5 percent, compared to September 2001 and decreased by 1.8 percent compared to August 2002. The average daily production last month (taking into account a seasonal correction) was 100.4 percent of the August 2002 level. The industrial production advance in the first nine months of 2001 was 5.2 percent compared to the period from January to September 2000.
