RAO UES CEO to Participate in Meeting of CIS Electrical Energy Council

CEO of RAO UES Anatoly Chubais will participate in the 22nd meeting of the CIS Electrical Energy Council in Alma-Ata (Kazakhstan). As the public relations department of RAO UES reported to RBC, the members of the Council are planning to coordinate joint activities of energy systems of the CIS countries for the fall-winter season of 2002-2003. Additionally, they will discuss the preparation for the parallel activities of the Association of Energy Systems of CIS Countries and the Unified Energy System of Baltic States with the European TACIS energy association. The parties are also expected to discuss holding a joint coordination committee of Eurelectric (the Union of the Electricity Industry) and the executive board of the CIS Electrical Energy Council.

The Council was created under an agreement on coordination of interstate relations in the electrical energy field among CIS countries on February 14, 1992. The President of the CIS Electrical Energy Council is CEO of RAO UES Anatoly Chubais.
