The city of St. Petersburg will participate in the 5th European Denkmal 2002 exhibition on the preservation and restoration of monuments. According to the press service of the Union of Restorers, the exhibition will open on October 29 in Leipzig, Germany. The event is supported by UNESCO. St. Petersburg's exhibit will be set up by the city's State Committee for Overseeing, Use, and Preservation of Historical and Cultural Monuments; the Union of Restorers of St. Petersburg; and the Restek exhibiting association.
According to the press service of the Union of Restorers of St. Petersburg, the city's gilders, enamellists, mosaic artists, and roof restorers participated in this exhibition before.
The Denkmal is the only such exhibition in Europe, which comprehensively covers all the aspects of the preservation and restoration of monuments, from small items to architectural monuments and landscapes.
