German Gref: At Least Half Problems Precluding Russia's Joining WTO Resolved

During the talks from October 24 through 25, Russia and the European Union (EU) have resolved no less than half of all problems precluding Russia's joining the World Trade Organisation (WTO). This is according to the statement made at a press conference in St. Petersburg by the Minister of Trade and Economic Development, German Gref.

Mr. Gref noted the similarity of opinions between Russia and EU as concerned Russia's domestic prices of energy resources. Russia found possible the elimination of certain previous restrictions, which, as Mr. Gref remarked, 'can hardly be found logical'.
